Senior Project Coordinator
FUNCTION OF JOB Under general supervision, develop and implement multiple strategic projects in an effort to promote an integrated physician service/research department within the scientific, clinical, and lay communities. Provide an essential role in building the awareness across local, regional and national markets.
CHARACTERISTIC WORK
Plan, organize, and implement multiple departmental, clinical, and lay community projects with a high degree of independent-thinking and attention to detail.
Represents the integrated service with multiple departments and various outside organizations, including industry groups, research sponsors, community organizations, community leaders, event planners, convention/hotel organizations, etc.
Liaison with the Public Relations and Marketing Departments and Development Office to develop announcements to promote the department, research, and events. Coordinate announcements with applicable organizations/departments.
Develop and manage budgets and related departmental projects.
Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of major projects. Coordinate with others in completing project tasks.
Represent the Vice President as designated in meetings and conferences related to work scope.
Collaborate with management in the planning and implementation of communication strategies to ensure accurate and relative information is appropriately shared within the Medical Center and with external entities.
Analyze a variety of reports to identify trends, issues, opportunities for improvement, etc. Develop and implement procedures to enhance performance.
Coordinate with the programmers to develop and maintain any necessary databases and to create web pages.
Coordinate committee meetings. Attend meetings to provide and obtain information.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND GIVEN Oral and/or written instructions are received from supervision. Provide guidance and direction to support personnel. MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Microsoft applications is required, and critical thinking and organization skills required.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, or a related field of study and one year experience or a combination of related education and experience.
High degree of independence, initiative, and organization.
Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities accordingly.
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe, and web based forms.
Prior budget preparation preferred.
Workday experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS (continued)
Familiarity with the assigned department, other institutes, and community organizations a plus.
Experience beyond the minimum.
Familiarity with database management.
