Associate Commodity Manager - Carmel, IN (Hybrid) Manage assigned sourced product categories for the Americas SBU’s. Partner and work closely with key stakeholders (product management, engineering, operations, quality) to capture product requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality objectives are achieved. Responsible for developing & executing sourced product strategies. Accountable for all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned product categories. Lead New Product Development activity in close coordination with the product management team and other key internal stakeholders. Manage assigned projects/initiatives, including process improvements, source changes and cost reduction initiatives as needed.

What You Will Do

Directly manage supplier relationships for assigned product categories

Develop and execute procurement strategies and optimize total supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, and technology)

Lead, manage and execute all data collection, validation, analysis and negotiation activities for the product categories

Perform competitive analysis, industry benchmark, and opportunity assessments

Analyze supply risk and develop risk mitigation plans

Drive productivity initiatives with assigned suppliers

Responsible for forecasting and managing deflation and mitigating inflation

Partner with the SBU product management team to ensure product strategies and sourcing activities are aligned with short and long‑term product objectives

Support Value Added, Value Engineering (VAVE) and continuous improvement initiatives with assigned suppliers

Lead current production cost reduction initiatives and future sourcing activities

Lead the negotiation and management of key supplier contracts (MSA, SOMI, etc.)

Manage overall relationship for key suppliers

Conduct ongoing supplier assessments and performance review meetings, monitor effectiveness of strategy, and make changes where appropriate

Identify and establish new suppliers for risk mitigation activities and/or new product development initiatives

Operate in a professional manner with the highest personal integrity, in accordance with Allegion’s Code of Conduct and compliance policies

What You Need To Succeed

Ability to travel up to 20%

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field

3+ years of procurement / sourcing experience, project management, engineering, operations, materials, product management, quality, and/or analyst experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.) and PowerPoint

Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills and assessing supplier capability

Experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution

Strong professional communication, including presenting to all levels within the organization

Experience with commodity management preferred

Strong problem‑solving skills and methods

Strong project management and data analytics skills

Experience with supply chain tools, ERP, GEP, etc. preferred
