Job Purpose: The Shipping Supervisor ensures that finished goods are packaged according to specifications and shipped timely. They manage team activities, staffing, training, development, and performance. They oversee inventory security and accountability, establish and modify operational procedures, and coordinate with vendors, customers, and carriers to resolve issues such as misdirected or damaged goods. They may also handle import and export coordination.
Responsibilities:
Oversee receiving, storing, and shipping of materials or finished goods.
Ensure products are properly stored and shipped on schedule.
Coordinate order picking and kitting to meet shipping deadlines.
Maintain documentation on department activities.
Develop and evaluate personnel for efficient operations.
Check received goods against purchase orders and maintain records.
Operate forklifts and lift heavy items safely.
Follow all safety, quality, conduct, and attendance policies.
Support order picking and coordinate with production for order readiness.
Supervise shipping, receiving, and storing staff.
Report damages or discrepancies.
Assist with inventory counts and warehouse improvements.
Ensure shipped products are in excellent condition.
Train staff on procedures and conduct inventory counts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or 4-6 years experience in materials handling, inventory, shipping, and logistics management.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Oracle preferred.
Experience with crating, packaging, international shipments, and commercial invoices preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and understand English.
Flexibility with schedule and extended hours.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Knowledge of equipment, safety, and customer service skills.
Additional Information: Salary Range: $68,640 - $70,967 annually. Compensation includes benefits such as health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, PTO, and potential bonuses or stock awards.
