Overview

Job Title: Instrument Technician (Part-time)

Job Location: Maryland Oral Surgery Associates, Rockville, MD

Job Type: Part-time

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
• Assist the surgeon with operatory setup and cleanup.
• Provide patients with information on oral health care, treatment plans, and postoperative outcomes.
• Monitor stock of surgical supplies, medication, and replenish as needed.
• Ensure that instruments and equipment are effectively maintained.
• Hold head during surgeries when needed
• Provide excellent patient care.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Will accept and train those with little experience as a medical assistant or dental assistant.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
• Ability to stand for long periods of hours and move fast
• Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 5-hour shift

Special Requirements

• Working on-site is essential to the function of this position.
• Must be able to stand up to 90% of the time at a minimum.
• Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time.
• Management may require that other or different tasks be performed as assigned.
