Veterinary Technician

Would you like to be part of a growing team at an independently owned, corporate free veterinary hospital? No weekend or late nights shifts. We are a small but busy animal hospital looking to add to our already talented staff. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. We practice high quality medicine and surgery, within our state of the art facility. We also integrate Eastern medicine with acupuncture, herbs and nutritional therapies, as well as laser therapy. We know our patients and clients well, and treat them like family. Duties - Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals - Perform routine procedures e.g. blood draws, and wound care and IV catheterization - Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians - Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments - Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures - Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples - Clean and maintain equipment including surgical instruments and work areas - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration - Performing therapeutic laser treatments after company supplied laser safety certification Experience - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician - Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques - Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical procedures - Experience with critical care and emergency situations as well as general medicine - Ability to handle dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments - Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment If you are a skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician and this sounds like a good fit for you, we want to hear from you!
