Role Summary

The Processing Equipment Operator operates forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, stack, and secure products and materials safely and efficiently. The operator maintains accurate inventory records and collaborates with team members to support overall production goals and ensure timely fulfillment of orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the company’s vision, mission, and core values.
  • Follow all company policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with Department Manuals, Employee Manuals, and Safety Manuals.
  • Assist as a primary source for the day‑to‑day needs of 101 Plant Processing, including crushing, baling, cleaning, de‑packaging finished goods, recycling, and more.
  • Obtain 101 Fork Truck Certification.
  • Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and production facility.
  • Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to prevent damage, optimize space, and maintain organization of goods according to company processes.
  • Clear production area by securing and moving finished pallets; moving empty pallets.
  • Learn and become efficient on various types of company equipment and operating machinery.
  • Assist in inventory counts and management by moving stock as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment; wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and troubleshoot or report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
  • Pick and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and condition, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of all material movements and forklift operations; enter load data into designated company software.
  • Feed processing crews to keep them busy and get off the fork truck and help out with processing as needed.
  • Collaborate with warehouse/production staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Suggest improvements in processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Completing other tasks as assigned by team leader/supervisor.
  • Attend all company meetings and trainings as required.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certified with 1–2 years of experience in a production, warehouse, or material handling environment preferred; must be able to obtain certification within the first couple of weeks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with processing, recycling, or feed‑handling equipment a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (cGMPs) and maintain accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work in varied conditions (heat, cold, noise, odors).
  • Willingness to wear required PPE (steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
  • Must be able/willing to work in a non‑climate‑controlled facility and around dairy products.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.

  • Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and odors.
  • Capable of repetitive motion and manual handling of materials throughout the shift.
  • Must wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to safely climb ladders or steps to access elevated work areas when necessary.
