Job Overview The Clinical Research Associate will provide clinical and research services to clinical trial subjects participating in Infectious Diseases studies under the supervision and direction of Dr. Princy Kumar. The incumbent must manage and coordinate complex COVID‑19 studies in accordance with established protocols and guidelines, monitor and screen patients, and administer investigational therapies for all clinical trials. The position requires high clinical skill and the ability to make decisions in unique clinical situations.

Responsibilities

Maintain a robust understanding of research processes.

Partner with clinical staff to help with documentation and data requirements of research functions.

Interact with the Clinical Trial Office, Pharmacy, Clinical Research Coordinators, Financial Administrators, and Regulatory Specialists.

Monitor and screen patients and administer investigational therapies under close supervision of Principal Investigator and Co‑Investigators.

Effectively communicate with trial subjects, internal resources and support teams to ensure objectives are met and regulatory compliance is maintained.

Collaborate with clinical and research resources to identify and develop process improvements.

Participate in cross‑functional teams to gather clinical and research needs and identify effective solutions.

Qualifications

Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practices to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience or equivalent; Master’s Degree in a related field is a plus.

Experience in research protocols and quality assurance.

Experience in a University medical setting is helpful.

Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues related to HIV infection and COVID‑19.

Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Ability to work in a Clinical Research setting.

Familiarity with Infectious Diseases Clinical Trials.

Strong knowledge and familiarity of Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and general clinical research skills.

Work Interactions The Clinical Research Associate will work directly with the Division Chief, Clinical Trial Principal Investigators, the Clinical Trial Unit research manager and staff, and will interact with the Georgetown Clinical Trial Office, Pharmacy, Clinical Research Coordinators, and Pharma representatives. The position requires calmness under pressure and sensitivity to confidentiality.

Work Mode Designation This position is designated as On‑Campus. Work mode designations are regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of the University.

Working Conditions Office setting. Sedentary.

Salary and Benefits Up to $87,558 per year, 40 hours a week.

Pay Range $47,586.00 – $87,558.13. Compensation is determined by qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and University business needs.
