Job Summary
Coordinating aquatic field crews comprised of graduate and undergraduate students, and liaising between university, federal, state, and nongovernmental partners to accomplish project objectives for Pis working in stream and wetland environments. Project planning, data analysis, and drafting of reports. Other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
Team development and management: Recruiting and staffing employees for aquatic field crews. Coordinating field efforts and logistics among aquatic field crews, including communication, travel and housing. Oversight of gear allocation, maintenance, and purchasing.
Project development: Participate in scientific advising of graduate and undergraduate students; assist with data collection, analysis, and writing. Coordinating data management and QA/QC.
Collaborator coordination: Work with external project collaborators to coordinate stream and wetland-related data management, including standards of data collection and storage.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
1+ years of project and personnel management experience in a field related to forestry or wildlife biology.
Preferred Requirements
Master’s or Doctoral/Professional degree in Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries.
5+ years of project and personnel management experience.
Class D normal driver’s license.
Responsibilities Comprehensive knowledge of theories and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
Budgetary Responsibilities No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

Use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc
Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

Working Conditions Exposure to heat or cold, wet or humid, overnight travel.
Work Schedule Standard Hours: 37.5
Compensation Information Anticipated Salary Range: $45,300 - $75,000. Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
