Position Overview
Southcoast Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled
OB/GYN physician
to join our Women’s Health team and provide comprehensive care for women throughout all stages of life. The role offers the opportunity to practice full‑spectrum obstetrics and gynecology within a multidisciplinary setting, collaborating with specialties such as maternal‑fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and family planning.
Location: Coastal southeastern Massachusetts, less than 30 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island and less than an hour from Boston, Massachusetts. The Women’s Health Center is located in New Bedford & Fall River, MA and is part of the Southcoast Physicians Group with over 800 providers.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including preventive health, prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum management.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions, including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, infertility, and menopause‑related concerns.
Perform gynecologic and obstetric surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques, in alignment with Southcoast Health’s standards of excellence.
Support and help lead specialized initiatives such as the Southcoast Menopause & Wellness Program, providing expert guidance on hormonal changes, symptom management, and long‑term health strategies.
Develop personalized treatment plans and ensure continuity of care for patients across all life stages.
Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning, and preventive strategies for bone, cardiovascular, and overall wellness.
Collaborate with Southcoast’s multidisciplinary team of over 800 providers to deliver coordinated, patient‑centered care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and adhere to quality and safety standards.
Stay current with clinical guidelines, best practices, and emerging research through continuing education and professional development.
Participate in community outreach, seminars, and educational programs to promote awareness of women’s health issues in the South Coast region.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Current state medical license and DEA registration.
Demonstrated clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and effective communication skills.
