Mazzetti is a global engineering design and consulting firm with a rich history of delivering forward-thinking solutions primarily for Healthcare and Life Sciences facilities and infrastructure. As an employee-owned benefit corporation, we are committed to bending the climate curve. Though our story began with a small team of MEP engineers, 60 years later, we’ve grown to 200+ people in 11 locations across the U.S., India, and Africa. We are proud to partner with clients, addressing a spectrum of needs, mindful of their environmental footprint, resiliency, and economic and functional interests.
Mazzetti's Technology Practice, one of our five Practice areas, envisions and designs forward-thinking, sustainable technology solutions tailored to the healthcare sector. This Practice encompasses Medical Equipment Planning, IT and Low Voltage Systems, and their integration with our Engineering Practice. We see clearly that the future of healthcare will center around the deployment of technology to support and extend care delivery in all settings. We are focused on growing the IT and low voltage part of this Practice, and wea re seeking a leader to help us and to grow with us. Job Summary As a Low Voltage Systems Designer at Mazzetti, you will play a hands-on role in the design, documentation, and execution of technology infrastructure for healthcare projects. Your primary focus will be on developing innovative, sustainable low voltage and IT systems solutions that directly impact healthcare delivery. You will work closely with healthcare users, IT/Biomedical teams, contractors, and other design professionals to ensure that every project reflects technical excellence and Mazzetti’s commitment to engineering a healthier planet. We’re seeking a highly motivated individual with a growth mindset—someone eager to dive into complex challenges, build expertise, and contribute meaningfully from day one. Your Tasks Will Involve Design and Documentation: Create detailed designs, specifications, and documentation for low voltage and communication systems in healthcare settings. Develop and refine technical drawings and system layouts using software tools. Technical Analysis and Solutions Development: Perform hands-on assessments of healthcare IT and communication systems requirements. Conduct site surveys on construction sites to identify and address technical issues. Review and respond to submittals and RFIs from contractors to ensure alignment with design intent. Collaboration and Integration: Communicate clearly and effectively with contractors and vendors to support coordination and problem-solving. Collaborate directly with internal design teams to ensure seamless system integration into larger project frameworks. Work with regulatory and compliance teams to align designs with industry standards. Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with healthcare users and IT/Biomedical teams to understand their operational needs and translate them into actionable design solutions. Contribute to workshops, planning sessions, and technical discussions to deliver impactful, user-focused solutions. Cost and Efficiency Improvements: Provide detailed cost estimates and budgets, ensuring that solutions align with client goals and project constraints. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, constructability, and sustainability in systems design. Work Location This is a hybrid position based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. The candidate will be required to be onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area 2-3 days a week for project requirements, but most of the work can be done remotely from home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Travel Requirements:
Approximately 25% travel is expected, mainly for project site visits within California. Occasional travel to other locations along the West Coast may be required.
