Overview:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Welcome to our
high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Medical/Surgical Unit
, serving both adult and occasional pediatric patients. While our primary focus is on adults aged 18 and older, we also provide care for approximately
1–2 pediatric patients per month
.
Our diverse patient population includes a broad range of
medical and post-operative cases
, such as: Orthopedic procedures:
knees, hips, shoulders
General surgeries:
appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections
Specialized care:
bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothorax
We maintain a
nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6

✅ Qualifications Education & Licensure: Graduate of an accredited RN program
Active
RN license
(state-specific or compact)
Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
Certifications Required: ACLS
– Advanced Cardiac Life Support
BLS
– Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
Physical Requirements: Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed
