We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design and deploy robust, scalable data models and pipelines supporting analytics and data product development within the retail banking sector. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial data, advanced knowledge of GCP and BigQuery, and hands‑on experience with relational and dimensional modeling. This role requires proficiency in handling large‑scale structured and semi‑structured datasets and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality, compliant, and scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement relational and dimensional data models for enterprise data warehouses.
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and compliance requirements.
Perform data profiling and analysis to understand data quality, structure, and relationships.
Build and optimize data models to support ingestion and transformation pipelines using Airflow, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Spark, and Python.
Manage and process structured and semi‑structured data formats, including JSON and complex data types.
Apply data modeling and database design best practices to ensure scalability and performance.
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to design data products that provide actionable insights.
Enforce data quality, lineage, and governance across all data assets.
Define and document data models, entity relationships, pipelines, and processes to ensure transparency and maintainability.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
5+ years of experience in data modeling, data governance, and data architecture roles.
Hands‑on experience with GCP, Big Query, Dataflow, SQL, and Python.
Ability to define domain relationships and build connected entity models.
Strong understanding of normalization, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing principles.
Experience handling structured and semi‑structured data.
Detail‑oriented with strong data accuracy and validation skills.
Understanding of retail banking/credit card data domains and regulatory considerations.
Proficiency with SQL and data modeling tools such as Wherescape, ERwin, or ER/Studio.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
Certifications such as GCP Professional Data Engineer or GCP Architect.
Experience with data governance frameworks and metadata management.
Exposure to data product lifecycle or data mesh principles.
Education Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field.
