POSITION The Department of Sociology at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool.
We are seeking experienced, well‑organized, student‑centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas.
Sociology 201 Social Media and Social Interaction
Sociology 300 Social Work
Sociology 302 Social Research Methods
Sociology 303 Statistics
Sociology 305 Social Work Practice
Sociology 308 Writing for Sociology
Sociology 345 Sociology of Communication
Sociology 350 Social Relationships and Emotions
Sociology 353 Sociology of Children & Youth
Sociology 365 Law and Society
Sociology 410 Theories of Social Behavior

This is a pool of part‑time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.
Appointments from the part‑time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least a Master’s degree in Sociology or a related field
Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide, culturally diverse range of students, including first‑generation college students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive inclusive environment.
Relevant professional work experience and capabilities.

APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR Need greatest in Fall and Spring semesters; Fall late August to mid‑December; Spring middle January to end May; occasionally Summer sessions.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Regular performance evaluations by department in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. Determines retention and future assignments.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY All part‑time faculty appointed as Lecturers under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Initial appointment one semester.
Classification range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month; anticipated range not to exceed $6,221 per month.
Full‑time (15 units) monthly base salaries prorated; paid in six monthly payments per full semester. For 3‑unit assignment typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.
