Responsibilities for the Cyber Tools Engineer
Security Solution Development & Implementation: Design and deploy innovative security capabilities to protect and maintain the reliable operation of enterprise IT environments.
System Administration: Configure and administer Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms while implementing security technologies such as Suricata, firewalls, and endpoint protection tools.
System Monitoring & Incident Resolution: Oversee daily operational health of systems and networks, proactively monitor for issues, and perform timely troubleshooting to ensure continuous availability.
Automation & Configuration Management: Streamline and automate the deployment, maintenance, and configuration of cybersecurity solutions to improve efficiency and consistency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership: Work independently and as part of small technical teams, often leading initiatives, managing project deliverables, and mentoring junior personnel to achieve mission objectives.
Qualifications for the Cyber Tools Engineer
4+ years of experience as a systems administrator
Experience with operating and maintaining both Linux and Windows servers
Experience with installing, configuring, or maintaining devices, applications, and security tools, including Suricata, Palo Alto Firewalls, Trellix ESS (formerly McAfee HBSS), ePO, and FireEye tools, Splunk and Cribl or ForeScout
Experience with automating deployments, configuration management, or cybersecurity tools operations
Clearance: TS/Sci Ci poly
Compensation for the Cyber Tools Engineer
$110,000 to $140,000 *Depending on Experience
