Senior Civil Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to add technical, project management, and business development expertise to our team. This individual will support our growing civil engineering practice within our mining, industrial, energy infrastructure, transportation, and buildings practices across the company.
Manage the technical aspects for civil or geotechnical engineering tasks including permitting, design, and construction of tailings basins, landfills, and CCR facilities; geotechnical instrumentation; geotechnical investigations and design; and civil site design projects
Support the development of new and existing clients and markets while cross-selling GEI’s other core business areas (e.g., permitting, water resources, ecological services, and engineering) to support the growth of GEI’s Minnesota offices
Lead proposal teams and presentations
Lead and participate on multi-disciplinary, multi-geographic project teams
Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events
Manage projects and staff, including technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentoring
Assist in recruiting and training additional staff
This position has a field component; travel and some overnight travel are required
Minimum Qualifications Minimum of B.S. degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field. M.S. preferred.
Professional Engineer, or path to PE license, is required.
5-15 years of previous professional experience in civil or geotechnical engineering; Project Management experience, including proposal preparation and budgeting; knowledge of state and federal regulations; proven business development skills.
Seller-doer with strong regional connections and an entrepreneurial spirit
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
