Senior Manager, Data Scientist – US Card (Generative AI Systems)

Team Description The Generative AI Systems (Genesis) team within Card Data Science builds state‑of‑the‑art, generative AI–based solutions for dialogue, text summarization, reading comprehension, speech recognition, image/document processing, and time‑series sequencing modeling. We partner with product, tech, and design teams to deliver internal applications that drive efficiency in business and data analytics teams, and customer‑facing applications that enhance the customer experience.
Role Description In this role you will:
Partner with a cross‑functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love.
Leverage a broad stack of technologies—Python, Kubernetes, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more—to reveal insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data.
Build machine learning models through all phases of development—from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
Translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals with strong interpersonal skills.

Basic Qualifications
Currently holding or in the process of obtaining one of the following, with the degree completed on or before the scheduled start date:
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) plus 7 years of data analytics experience.
Master’s degree in a quantitative field or MBA with quantitative concentration plus 5 years of data analytics experience.
PhD in a quantitative field plus 2 years of data analytics experience.
At least 2 years of experience leveraging open‑source programming languages for large‑scale data analysis.
At least 2 years of experience working with machine learning.
At least 2 years of experience utilizing relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) plus 4 years of data analytics experience.
At least 1 year of experience working with AWS.
At least 1 year of experience managing people.
At least 5 years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R for large‑scale data analysis.
At least 5 years’ experience with machine learning.

Compensation McLean, VA : $225,400 – $257,200 for Senior Manager, Data Science New York, NY : $245,900 – $280,600 for Senior Manager, Data Science
Role is eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives may be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
