The SGO currently has an extraordinary opportunity for an education-centered self-starter to join the team as the Senior Manager, Professional Education role. We are looking for an individual to bring their passion and excitement to our fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The successful incumbent will be highly detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative while managing multiple projects simultaneously. They will see the big picture and embrace change to ensure they meet their goals and the goals of the SGO and FWC. The Senior Manager, Professional Education supports the planning, development, and execution of SGO’s live and in-person Annual Meeting. This position ensures that all educational offerings are high-quality, aligned with the organization’s mission, and compliant with accreditation standards. The Senior Manager collaborates with subject matter experts and volunteer leaders to develop content, manage education logistics, and ensure continuous improvement of programs that meet the evolving needs of SGO’s membership. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & IMPLEMENTATION–

Manage operations and timelines for Annual Meeting educational activities; collaborate with partners to develop and deliver education programming; develop learning objectives, session goals, and project timelines for educational activities; implement models and tools that enhance the learner experience; and track and assess program outcomes, incorporating feedback and data to recommend improvements. CONTENT DEVELOPMENT & STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION–

Serve as the primary staff liaison to program chairs and volunteer committees to support the planning and execution of educational content; manage the abstract submission and scientific review process; provide administrative and logistical support to ensure smooth execution of sessions and meetings; and foster collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders. ACCREDITATION & COMPLIANCE–

Ensure educational activities comply with ACCME (or relevant accrediting body) standards and organizational policies; prepare and maintain documentation for CE accreditation; stay informed about evolving accreditation requirements, recommend updates to maintain compliance; and coordinate with the Compliance Working Group as needed to uphold ethical and regulatory standards. ADMINISTRATION & OPERATIONS–

Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets for assigned educational activities; coordinate contracts and relationships with vendors; collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop promotional materials for educational programs; and maintain organized documentation and data related to education programs. TEAM LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION–

Supervise assigned staff and contractors, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional growth; encourage teamwork, innovation, and accountability of staff; contribute to departmental planning and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Senior Director, Meetings and Education. Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience. The hiring range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability benefits; vacation time, sick time, 11 named holidays and 3 floating holidays, and parental leave. Requirements for Success

Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in continuing medical education, preferably within an association or healthcare environment. Solid understanding of ACCME or equivalent CE accreditation processes. Demonstrated experience managing complex educational projects from concept through delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with speaker and abstract management systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with volunteer leaders, faculty, and cross-functional teams. In addition, the Senior Manager, Professional Education will have successfully managed teams; be an innovative problem-solver; influence through executive presence; demonstrate thoughtful and polished communication skills; be technically agile and adept; and serve as a role model for integrity and professional conduct. The work of the SGO is conducted primarily in a remote office environment with occasional requirements to be onsite for group meetings and events. Travel is required approximately 10-20 days per year.
