Youth Engagement Transportation Specialist
Overview
Youth Engagement Transportation Specialists support travel to and from the Liliʻuokalani Center for kamaliiʻi on Oʻahu and throughout the paeʻāina. They are a critical part of the Engagement Center team, designed to reduce barriers to access and provide the first and last connection during a program day for traveling kamaliʻi. Along with driving, Specialists assist with all transportation logistics, communicate with kamaliʻi, ʻohanas, and LC teammates, and plan and implement shuttle services for weekday evenings and Saturday programs at LC. Seasonally, they also support flight travel to and from neighboring islands for kamaliʻi attending intensive programs.
Essential Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Kamaliʻi Recruitment and Wellness Team to support transportation to and from LC.
Work directly with youth involved in programming under the direction of the Recruitment and Wellness Team.
Drive LT’s 11‑passenger vans to provide transportation for kamaliʻi to access LC programs.
Build and sustain trusting relationships with youth, ensuring engagement strategies foster belonging and program success.
Assist with program planning, implementation, and monitoring, including facilitation of transportation services.
Assist with opening, closing, and monitoring of facilities.
Assist with planning transportation logistics.
Provide administrative support as needed, ensuring efficient coordination and documentation of program‑related activities.
Other Duties
Contribute to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and collaborating toward strategic goals.
Participate in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development.
Evening and weekend hours required.
Other duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum one year experience offering transportation services.
1–2 years experience working with youth and youth programming.
Capacity to work in different settings (schools, public spaces, office, distressed communities, etc.).
Able to drive long distances and provide safe transportation to and from LC for youth.
Valid driver’s license and clean traffic abstract.
TB clearance.
