Summary The Global IT Director leads global IT systems, programs, and support functions across multiple regions, partnering with infrastructure and applications teams to implement enterprise-standard solutions, including ERP (Syspro, Dynamics AX and others), CAD, and PLM systems.

The role oversees a global IT support organization following ITIL practices, manages project demand and global IT budgets, and provides strategic direction on technology initiatives.

The Director builds strong relationships with business leaders, vendors, and service providers to ensure IT aligns with and drives organization-wide goals.

Responsibilities

Provide global leadership for IT systems, infrastructure, and projects across all regions, ensuring alignment with business strategy and corporate standards.

Partner with global infrastructure and applications teams to design, implement, and optimize standardized enterprise systems and applications worldwide.

Oversee the implementation, integration, and continuous support of enterprise applications, including Dynamics AX and other ERP platforms, to drive operational excellence.

Direct the global deployment and management of engineering CAD and PLM systems, such as Windchill, supporting product development and lifecycle processes across regions.

Establish and enforce ITSM (ITIL) best practices to deliver high-quality, consistent user support through global Helpdesk and Desktop Support teams.

Lead prioritization and governance of global IT project demand, providing executive guidance on technology strategies, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives.

Build and maintain strong IT–business relationships across all regions by delivering timely updates, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Develop and manage the global ICT budget, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment of costs across all business units.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, vendors, and service providers worldwide to deliver effective, secure, and scalable IT solutions.

Provide visionary leadership and professional development opportunities for the global IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements

10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience within a multi-site, multinational manufacturing organization.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

Broad knowledge of global ERP solutions (Oracle, SAP, Baan, Axapta, etc.); hands‑on experience with Syspro and Dynamics AX is highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and implement IT solutions to address complex business challenges in a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in global project management; PMP certification or equivalent strongly preferred.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across diverse geographies and cultures.

Knowledge and practical application of ITIL (IT Service Management) principles in an international environment.

Ability to lead, collaborate, and influence at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership, while navigating complex global structures.

Work Conditions

Access to manufacturing and warehouse environments including inside and outside storage space which may be noisy and dirty.

Ideally located home base close to NDS manufacturing or distribution site.
