Opportunity Full-time position reporting to Stantec’s Solana Beach, CA office. Position is eligible for remote hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
Guide projects through the federal environmental permitting processes from constraints analysis/scoping through regulatory consultations to environmental certification (FONSI or ROD).
Oversee preparation of environmental permit applications with various federal and state agencies for a variety of project types/sizes.
Manage the project or task team (office‑ and field‑based) and their assignments, deliverables, files and administrative record, safety program, subconsultants and their contracting process, client expectations; monitor and review project contracts, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
Capabilities and Credentials
Good organizational skills, multitasking capabilities and attention to detail.
Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet firm deadlines.
Ability to acquire background clearance sufficient to gain entry to military installations and/or controlled access facilities.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Pre‑employment drug screen required; preferred.
Experience with environmental analysis and permitting for military projects (Navy, Marine Corps, Air National Guard, Coast Guard, Air Force, etc.) or projects for other federal government entities on Federally‑owned lands.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Community/Urban Planning, or a closely related field.
Master’s Degree in any of the fields above preferred.
Minimum 6 years of related work experience, with demonstrated task lead experience.
Ability to obtain IAW NISPOM security clearance.
