MHW Search has exclusively partnered with a highly successful real estate investment and development firm. The firm recently raised a significant fund to expand its multifamily and industrial development platforms. With an exceptional track record of performance and execution, the firm is well positioned for continued across key markets.

We are seeking an accomplished and entrepreneurial President to lead all aspects of development – from site sourcing and acquisitions through design, entitlements, and pre-construction, before hand-off to the construction team.

The ideal candidate brings deep market relationships, proven execution experience across multiple projects, and the ability to lead a team while driving growth and profitability within an institutional or entrepreneurial setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead sourcing and evaluation of new development opportunities across target markets.

Oversee due diligence, financial modeling, and underwriting (with support from an existing team) for prospective projects.

Direct entitlement strategy and coordination with design, engineering, and municipal teams.

Manage joint-venture and capital partner relationships alongside ownership.

Establish and execute business plans from inception through pre-construction handoff.

Provide strategic leadership, mentoring, and oversight across the development team.

Collaborate with construction, asset management, and investment teams to ensure seamless project transitions.

Represent the firm externally with capital partners, brokers, and municipalities to advance the company’s platform.

Qualifications

12-20+ years of experience in real estate development, investment, or related disciplines.

Proven track record leading ground-up multifamily and/or industrial developments.

Deep understanding of site selection, entitlement, and design.

Demonstrated ability to source, structure, and close complex development transactions.

Established relationships with brokers, capital partners, and municipalities across key U.S. markets.

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
