Job Summary Involves designing, conducting, promoting, evaluating, and supporting health professions education programs in compliance with organizational objectives and nationally accepted accreditation standards and requirements. Supports learners (including but not limited to faculty, residents, clinical fellows, graduate or undergraduate learners, practicing or licensed professionals) in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, core competencies, assessment, and evaluations. Coordinates all activities associated with the ongoing administration of health professions education programs.
Responsibilities
Administer and manage activities for multiple ACGME-accredited and non-ACGME fellowship programs, including Laryngology (Non-ACGME), Pediatric Otolaryngology (ACGME and Non-ACGME), Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Non-ACGME), Prendergast (Non-ACGME), CHESA Global Health (Non-ACGME), Neurotology (Non-ACGME), Head and Neck Surgery (Non-ACGME), and various Research Fellowships.
Oversee all aspects of the fellowship lifecycle, including interviews, onboarding, credentialing, and offboarding for incoming fellows.
Ensure full compliance with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards by maintaining thorough understanding of policies and procedures from the Office of Graduate Medical Education, Office of Continuing Medical Education, UCSF Medical Center, Dean’s Office, Division, and Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
Manage educational programs such as Sub‑Internships (Sub‑I/Clerkships) through i‑Rocket and coordinate non‑MD interns including social workers, speech‑language pathologists, and audiologists.
Organize and manage departmental educational activities and events such as:
Grand Rounds
Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) Conferences
Tumor Boards
Pediatric Conferences
Fellow reimbursements and backup support for resident reimbursements
General education team administrative support
Maintain exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, trainees, and interdisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements, and health professions education program requirements.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related area preferred.
Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communication skills; active listening and critical thinking.
Strong interpersonal skills, cooperation, and support for others.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills with ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of educational software and platforms, data management, documentation methods, and statistical analysis of data.
The salary range for this position is $83,700 - $125,600 (Annual Rate). The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

The department consists of 9 clinical divisions and multiple educational programs.
