A rapidly scaling battery tech company is hiring a
Director of Battery Manufacturing & Operations
to lead pilot-line cell production and transition next‑generation Li‑ion/Li‑metal technology from R&D to manufacturable product.
Role Overview
Lead pilot‑scale cell manufacturing (pouch, EV, ESS).
Build pilot lines, set SOPs, and define QA/QC and production standards.
Drive scale‑up from lab concepts to production‑ready cells.
Own NPI execution using DFMEA/DVP&R.
Manage technical customer programs and product validation.
Bridge R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Requirements
PhD or advanced degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
Senior experience in cell manufacturing, pilot operations, or process engineering.
Strong Li‑ion / Li‑metal chemistry and manufacturing expertise.
Proven background in NPI, scale‑up, and quality systems.
OEM‑facing experience on technical roadmaps.
Nice to Have
Materials scientist who transitioned into operations leadership.
Experience with EV OEMs or top battery manufacturers.
Location: Boston, MA
Salary: $245,500.00 - $392,500.00
