Position Summary The Executive Director (ED) serves as the leader of the community, overseeing all day‑to‑day operations and ensuring residents receive exceptional care and service. As a liaison with staff, residents, families, vendors, providers and the State, the ED must communicate effectively, exercise patience and understanding, and quickly resolve problems that arise daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of all community departments and work closely with department heads to ensure resident, family, and associate satisfaction.

Lead and manage the community department heads, filling in for open positions when needed. Empower and support the leadership team with recruitment, onboarding, orientation, staffing and performance management.

Operate within established budgetary guidelines.

Meet personally with residents and families to discuss and resolve concerns and preferences.

Maintain ongoing compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.

Act as a sales leader, reviewing sales strategies with the marketing team and providing community tours to foster rapport with current and prospective residents.

Maintain the property to the highest standards, ensuring move‑in ready rooms and addressing issues promptly.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Three years or more of experience in retirement, skilled long‑term care or assisted living industry.

NC Assisted Living Administrators License.

Work history demonstrating strong hiring, directing and managing associates.

Knowledge of DHSR regulations and certification in good standing.

Effective communication with residents, families, staff, community and state officials.

Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
