Job Overview A key enabler of Mainspring’s mission is the ability of its team to deliver solutions based on our linear generator technology that solve customer problems in the cross‑section of resiliency and clean power generation. This includes site due diligence, design engineering, permitting, construction operations, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

Oversee the inspection, maintenance, reliability, and functional operation of the Balance of Plant (BoP) systems for power generation facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Identify, manage, and coordinate contractors for operational activities, including quality inspections, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

Develop and enforce quality acceptance criteria, ensuring compliance with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) guidelines.

Stock and manage site equipment, materials, and consumables to minimize downtime for repairs and preventative maintenance.

Facilitate coordination with Field Operations and Service teams to support troubleshooting and operational issues on sites.

Manage warranty claims and on‑site corrective work with contractors.

Lead retrofit projects by bidding, contracting, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

Implement preventive maintenance plans and inspections, including corrosion assessments, grounding tests, transformer inspections, and gas & electrical system calibrations.

Maintain site records and databases documenting inspection results, maintenance schedules, and operational changes.

Collaborate with external contractors, site owners, and internal teams to resolve site‑specific issues and manage unforeseen outages.

Coordinate with other teams to ensure documentation is in place for smooth transition of projects to operational assets.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in project management or site operations within power generation, distributed energy resources, or utilities.

Expertise in power generator operation and maintenance across pre‑ and post‑commercial operation phases.

Strong background in preventative maintenance planning and hands‑on diagnostics/troubleshooting of electrical systems, communications, instrumentation, and relay controls.

Proficiency with project and asset management software and digital tools for inspection scheduling, documentation, and reporting.

Knowledge of electrical testing protocols (e.g., Megger testing, torque inspections) and safety compliance standards.

Excellent organizational and communication skills, able to coordinate complex workflows and document key activities.

Proactive problem‑solving skills for identifying and addressing site challenges and risks.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field preferred; additional certifications (e.g., O&M, NETA) a plus.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and ensure safe, effective management of LGen and BoP systems in a dynamic environment.
