General Job Responsibilities
Perform a range of surgical procedures, including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies.
Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Be on‑call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications.
Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans.
Educate patients about post‑operative care and follow‑up requirements.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
Skills
Expertise in a wide variety of general surgeries with minimal supervision.
Ability to assess complex medical situations and make sound decisions quickly.
Excellent manual dexterity and precision.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
Minimum Education Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Residency training in surgery accredited by the ACGME or AOA.
License & Certifications
Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).
Active and unrestricted medical license in Idaho.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Experience
Preferably at least one year of experience providing clinical care.
