Client Overview High Country Search is partnering with a high-performing engineering and construction firm known for its technical depth, fast-paced midstream execution, and collaborative in-office culture. From its Denver headquarters, the company delivers multidiscipline projects across North America, ranging from targeted engineering studies to major multi-hundred-million-dollar EPC facilities. Leaders here take full ownership of complex work while partnering closely with strong cross‑functional teams and long‑standing clients.

Position Summary The Senior Project Manager will lead major EPC projects in the midstream space, guiding gas processing and related facilities from concept through startup. This role acts as the central leader for engineering, procurement, construction management, and project controls, with full responsibility for cost, schedule, scope, and risk on projects that can exceed one hundred million dollars. It is an ideal role for an experienced EPC project leader who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, enjoys balancing technical and commercial decisions, and can drive teams to deliver.

Key Responsibilities

Lead major EPC midstream projects (e.g., cryogenic gas processing plants) from proposal through commissioning, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and quality alignment.

Own the full execution plan and direct engineering, procurement, construction management, and project controls to keep milestones and deliverables on track.

Serve as the primary client interface, driving status meetings, progress reviews, critical-path decisions, and managing scope changes and risks.

Oversee key project staff, including two project managers plus project controls, document control, and construction management resources.

Drive financial and execution performance, including forecasting, budgeting, earned value insights, and proactive issue resolution across all project phases.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, with an engineering discipline strongly preferred; PMP or PE license required.

7–10+ years of technical project management experience, including leadership on large, complex EPC oil & gas/midstream projects ($100–200MM+).

Proven ability to lead multidiscipline teams (engineering, procurement, construction, project controls) through full project lifecycle.

Strong financial and commercial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, earned value, and profitability management.

Excellent communication and client-facing skills; proficient with project management/scheduling tools and willing to travel up to ~20% for key project phases.

Location & Work Style This is an

in-office role

based in the Denver metro area; candidates must be local or willing to relocate and be present in the office to collaborate with engineering, construction, and leadership teams.

Why This Role This opportunity offers full lifecycle ownership of large, complex EPC projects, supported by a strong internal engineering and project controls team that values collaboration and decisive leadership. You will work on high-impact midstream facilities where your decisions directly shape outcomes, and you will have real visibility with senior leadership. For a hands‑on, results-oriented project leader seeking meaningful influence, career growth, and the chance to drive major EPC work, this is an exceptional next step.
