Role Summary Free People is growing and opening a new location in Naperville, IL. We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join this team. The Assistant Store Manager supports the selling, service, and operations of the store to achieve an engaging and inspiring environment. Responsibilities include development of others, collaborating with key partners, and supporting store operations and visual needs.
Role Responsibilities
Brand Experience
– Acts as a brand ambassador and reflects the company values; partners with the leadership team on the creation of an engaging visual experience that appeals to the FP customer; creates selling initiatives that enhance the customer experience; delivers a seamless, omni‑channel shopping and event experience.
Leadership + Team Management
– Guides the team to prioritize the customer service and styling recommendations; provides employees with timely and specific feedback; participates as manager‑on‑duty to drive engagement; supports the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, and retaining talent and onboarding new hires.
Visual + Business Operations
– Sustains daily operating standards, assesses sales forecasting, supports scheduling and payroll; utilizes company tools to analyze business opportunities within product placement, outfitting, and stock levels; collaborates with key partners on shipment processing, restocking, and placement; adheres to store’s safety standards and inventory accuracy.
Communication + Relationships
– Leads with inclusive philosophy; engages employees at all levels; stays current with interoffice communication; provides global insight relevant to the customer experience; embraces culture of development.
Role Qualifications
Love for the FP brand
1+ years store leadership experience
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the store including nights, weekends, and holidays
