About the Job The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, Aircraft Composites is the domain expert for composites commodities within Anduril. This proactive, high‑impact role secures critical components, materials, and services that power our products. The role develops new supplier and sourcing partnerships for both new and existing products, improving technology, cost, and quality while ensuring commercial agreements, intellectual property, and statements of work are accurate before pipeline entry.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute commodity strategies for composites, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience.
Own end‑to‑end responsibility for delivering quality parts at the right cost.
Act as the sourcing expert for composites manufacturing.
Lead RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing process for composites.
Manage the business relationship with external contract manufacturers, ensuring continuity of supply, risk management, cost negotiations, and NPI‑to‑MP execution.
Partner with engineering teams to influence technical design specs and customize manufacturing requirements.
Perform detailed cost‑breakdown analysis of quote submissions and make data‑driven decisions based on total cost of ownership.
Support prototype requirements, execute build milestones, and lead sourcing activities with cross‑functional teams.
Influence CM manufacturing processes, CapEx, and technology decisions.
Negotiate supplier agreements to establish best‑in‑class pricing, quality, flexibility, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms.
Collaborate internally to resolve problems and advance new supplier or product offerings.
Provide technical direction within specific commodities, guiding product strategy throughout the lifecycle.
Lead operations for developing new and adapting existing technologies for Anduril.
Develop and execute commercial agreements reflecting project expectations, including fixed and variable costs, lead times, schedules, and manufacturing capacities.
Conduct regular technology reviews for executive staff and management.
Oversee supplier performance management for assigned commodities, tracking delivery, quality, cost, and innovation metrics.
Serve as primary escalation point for commodities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in supply chain commodity management of composites manufacturing and/or sourcing engineering.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Ability to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA, if not already local.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or metallurgical/materials engineering.
Experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, high‑tech, or related industry.
Expert in total cost of ownership analysis for component and supplier selection.
Strategic thinker who builds commodity strategies with engineering stakeholders.
Proven leadership in influencing cross‑functional teams toward common goals.
Strong team player who can wear multiple hats and remove roadblocks.
Fluency in cross‑functional areas to fill gaps.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
Salary Range US Salary Range: $146,000 – $194,000 USD (base salary only; actual offer may vary).
