Inventory Control Clerk
Monitors, orders, stocks, and transports supplies and/or equipment for the organization.
Responsibilities
Monitors, orders, stocks, and transports supplies and/or equipment.
Ensures timely delivery of stock/inventory as needed.
Investigates and troubleshoots inventory issues/problems.
Maintains accurate tracking records for inventory.
Tasks assigned may include all areas of Supply Chain responsibility, and may change over time.
Engages customers on a regular basis to ensure good service. This requires the necessary professional presence to effectively interact with clinicians, administrators, colleagues, and vendors.
Uses electronic handheld to maintain accurate inventory counts and drive replenishment.
Identifies process improvements and drives implementation through supervisor.
Ensures stock expiration is minimized with adherence to stock rotation guidelines and best practice.
Knows, or can learn quickly, the inventory locations sufficiently to put away stock accurately without guidance.
Works with appropriate parties to ensure the right products are in the right place, at the right time.
Work with appropriate parties to ensure optimum inventory levels, consistent with department financial goals, to minimize manual requisition entry.
Independently counts assigned inventory locations, picks ordered items from Store room if necessary, and delivers to final inventory storage areas timely and accurately.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required at start date. Additional training beyond High School (e.g. CSCP, LEAN, Six Sigma Certification, bachelor's degree) preferred.
Work Experience
Required: Previous experience working with any of the following: shipping, receiving, picking, logistics, distribution, purchasing, warehousing, inventory management, contracting or vendor management.
Preferred: minimum of one year of experience in disciplines listed above.
