Opportunity Overview The Maintenance Outage Coordinator manages the execution of maintenance and upgrade activities during planned and unplanned outages at fossil power plants. We ask that you have technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/control systems.
Responsibilities
Work with outage management, contractors, and engineers to ensure execution of outage tasks.
Review work scopes, technical drawings, and schedules to confirm agreement on project requirements.
Manage contractors performing mechanical, electrical, and structural work on power plant equipment, including turbines, boilers, piping, and auxiliary systems.
Maintain clear and accurate records of work completed, delays, and any modifications made during the outage.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards throughout all activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
2 years of outage coordination or power plant maintenance experience.
Experience with safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/control systems (see below for details).
Technical Expertise
Mechanical
– Oversight of steam/combustion turbines, HRSG, boilers, or valve maintenance; familiarity with Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment; P91 welding experience.
Electrical
– Oversee generator, exciter, and auxiliary electrical equipment maintenance; 1+ years experience as Electrical Supervisor/Superintendent; hands‑on knowledge of grounding, medium/low voltage systems, transformers, and P&ID interpretation.
Instrumentation & Control (I&C)
– Calibration, testing, and tuning of control systems; field experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as GE Mark V/VI or Ovation; commissioning and startup experience with DCS systems; interpret P&ID, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
