Overview The Customer Service Representative I is the first point of contact for AIT’s customers, troubleshooting delivery issues, establishing new relationships, managing existing accounts and translating customer needs into results‑oriented solutions.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls and make outbound calls, ensuring outstanding customer service and completing requests with urgency and professionalism.

Work within the Transportation Management System (TMS) to trace loads and provide customers with shipment updates.

Set up routes, transit times, and schedule appointments for AIT’s services.

Review and respond proactively to customer emails within the assigned team inbox.

Promote additional services such as Proof of Delivery (PODs) to support overall profit.

Act as liaison between sales/account management and customers to enhance service experience.

Escalate problems to sales/account management as needed.

Review processes and take immediate action to correct or solve issues.

Serve as resource for new and existing accounts to ensure accurate and timely delivery.

Provide feedback to improve procedures, increase efficiency, reduce errors, and better serve customers.

Develop and maintain relationships with AIT’s customers and vendors.

Qualifications Education

High School diploma or GED equivalent (Required)

Experience

0‑3 years of customer‑service or related experience (Required)

0‑3 years in freight forwarding, logistics, 3PL, transportation brokerage, or trucking (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities

Microsoft Office Suite (Medium proficiency)

Transportation Management System (TMS) (Low proficiency)

AS400 (Low proficiency)

Compensation Wage range: $21.30 - $29.40 per hour, varying by geography and experience.

Benefits Base compensation plus potential bonus based on performance metrics.
