Apple is seeking an engineering program manager to lead the critical programs for the CloudKit portfolio as part of the Apple Services Engineering (ASE) organization. We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals looking to contribute to the development and execution of the extraordinary services and infrastructure that power Apple’s products and bring the iCloud experience closer to the user. You will partner with teams and vendors whose mission is to build, maintain, and improve the platform and product layer of Apple’s most critical cloud services at scale. Your work will focus on services, features, quality, reliability, scalability, privacy and security technologies within CloudKit. We influence and partner in defining and implementing standard processes that improve our operational and privacy efficiency as well as play a key role in the evolution of the next generation of CloudKit for Apple. Our work is integral through the entire software stack so you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of engineering teams.

Description You are technically curious and a functional expert autonomously lead multiple projects and tracks of works of varying scale and complexity with cross-functional and geographically dispersed development teams with only consultative direction from leadership. This is not a task-based job; we are accountable for delivering secure and performant systems. We partner with engineering leaders and teams as you will influence and drive software delivery.

Responsibilities

Drive and ship large, multi-functional programs and features for iCloud

Lead all aspects of multiple concurrent features including scope, requirements, timelines, and resource allocation

Foster collaboration across a broad team of XF partners to formulate roadmap and manage intake of new feature asks. Help set the strategy and communicate status and issues to stakeholders at all levels.

Bring clarity by creating plans, driving the team to execute on those plans, setting goals and expectations, and removing roadblocks.

Influence and build relationships with team members in all functional areas and levels of the organization—engineering, business, product, legal, marketing, design, and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

BS in computer science or a related field.

3+ years of technical project and/or program management experience in leading Cloud platform software development.

Experienced with software & server delivery, reliability, privacy and other workflows as part of Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC).

Collaborative engagement and technical empathy for engineers

Experience as a project lead, able to focus and simplify, balancing the details with goals, priorities, and trade-offs in mind

Shown ability to meet deadlines and schedule constraints; working effectively with and influence multiple collaborators across a highly-matrixed, multi-functional organization

Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience with strong presentation skills both in person and in multi-location meetings

Proven record in defining processes, key metrics and executing on them

Leadership and conflict resolution skills

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Able to think critically and creatively, identify risks and drive the execution across multiple teams to remediate them

Sound technical foundation and highly motivated self starter.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with distributed database concepts and technologies.

Experience in software program or project management delivering iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, or visionOS applications.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,800 and $245,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
