Overview General Summary The ARNP or PA-C, under the supervision of the Physician(s), who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
Performs physical examinations of hospital patients including, but not limited to: new patient visits, pre & post-operative care, hospital consultations, inpatient rounding and discharging of patients per hospital protocol
Provides assistance during procedures when requested
Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
Monitors the patient's course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
Knowledge and Skills Required
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
Strong communication skills
Ability to handle a high volume of patients in an inpatient setting
Position requires a 7 on/7 off work schedule with daily hours of 6PM-6AM
Position is based at AdventHealth Winter Garden or Minneola
Candidate must be able to pass a third-party background check and pre-employment drug screen
Required Education/Experience
Master's degree in Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant studies
Preferred Education/Experience
Previous Internal Medicine or Hospitalist experience is required 1-2 years
Prefer 2 years of inpatient based medicine, preferably in Internal Medicine
Licensure, Certification, and Registration
Current, valid Florida ARNP or PA license (or eligibility) required
Current, valid DEA license
ANCC (or equivalent) or PANCE Certification (or eligibility) required
Current BLS and ACLS required
Hospital Description AdventHealth Winter Garden, a part of AdventHealth Orlando, opened in 2016 as a state‑of‑the‑art emergency facility featuring board‑certified physicians trained in the care of both adults and children. AdventHealth Winter Garden opened its new inpatient tower in May 2022, a $229.5 million expansion which brings critical services to the fast‑growing West Orange community. The new tower provides 80 private rooms and space for new services, including orthopedics, advanced gynecology, cardiology, gastroenterology, general and robotic surgery, neurology, spine health, colorectal and urology.
