K1 Speed, the nation’s indoor electric karting leader, invites a dynamic General Manager to lead operations at our new center in Totowa, NJ. The role centralizes management of karting, bowling, a large arcade, a Ninja course, private event bookings, and a full‑service bar and restaurant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Staffing: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, disciplining, and terminating employees.
Ensure facility complies with all OSHA guidelines and state health inspection requirements.
Maintain all state and federal permits, licenses, and alcohol ordinances, including staff permits.
Handle cash operations, including till preparation, change fund maintenance, deposits, and adherence to correct cash handling procedures.
Complete monthly retention of all work‑related documentation and provide corporate with all necessary vendor invoices.
Oversee track operations: safe, efficient, professional race execution and equipment maintenance.
Maintain accurate daily manager objectives and reports via the company intranet.
Ensure kitchen, bar, and food service meet cost standards for food, parts, and labor.
Operate marketing and promotional activities to build brand and generate revenue.
Coordinate private events, ensuring compliance with guidelines and timely communication with sales.
Maintain facility appearance, cleanliness, and employee uniforms to uphold the K1 image.
Conduct weekly inventories of inventory items per company standards.
Respond to customer service needs, delivering service within 24 hours.
Maintain vendor relationships and report issues to Regional Managers.
Administer HR duties: written warnings, promotions, pay changes, complying with wage and hour standards.
Practice open‑door policy and ensure a safe working environment.
Produce financial reports and analysis for COG and MCPs set forth by the Regional Manager.
Verify compliance with K1 Battery Program.
Lead performance evaluation, action planning to meet K1 standard.
Provide regular reports to the Regional Manager regarding location operations.
Assist in achieving sales goals and evaluating management performance per K1 standards.

6–7 years of management experience with a successful track record, preferably in restaurant, family entertainment or hospitality.
Physical Demands Position requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 100 lbs safely for extended periods. Reasonable accommodation may be provided.
Work Environment High‑level noise indoors; occasional outdoor exposure during marketing events.
