As a Middle and Large Commercial Underwriter in the technology sector, you will lead the sales and underwriting process by building strong, lasting relationships with agents and brokers, ensuring that The Hartford is their carrier of choice. Success involves effective account stewardship, managing the sales process from strategic planning to operational excellence, and developing cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Manage and underwrite a Middle Market Technology book of business. Analyze agency books quarterly for potential actions. Apply all applicable underwriting guidelines when making decisions. Underwrite highly complex business with limited support. Maintain thorough knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and governance. Create and execute strategies for new and renewal accounts, including prospective management, mix strategies, territorial and agency sales plans. Act as a trusted advisor and solution provider to brokers and agents. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3+ years of P&C Middle Market or Technology underwriting experience; E&O experience is a plus. Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Self-starter with resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. Solid organizational and time management skills. Goal-oriented with a focus on outcomes. Ability to challenge the status quo and compete to win. Technical expertise relevant to underwriting. Location:

Hybrid work arrangement in Chicago, IL, working in-office 3 days a week (Tuesday-Thursday). Compensation:
