Role Description SMBC Capital Markets Inc. is leading a digital transformation to modernize technology, focus on data‑driven approaches, and plan for the future. As part of this expansion, we seek a Senior Software Engineer to support mid‑office, finance, and operations functions.

Role Objectives

Work with business teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and process gaps.

Drive organization‑wide design and architecture while gaining buy‑in and support from stakeholders.

Engage with IT systems architects, database administrators, and cyber security teams to meet back‑end functionality demands.

Liaise with other technology and development teams to coordinate integration of applications with the company software ecosystem.

Participate in daily development meetings to align priorities, assign tasks, and share experiences.

Build a network of relationships across the organization.

Demonstrate integrity and strong work ethics.

Work well in a team.

Have superior communication and user interaction skills, be able to explain complex problems simply, and possess the maturity to solve problems independently.

Qualifications And Skills

5+ years of practical work experience in software development and systems implementation.

Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.

Proficiency in Microsoft .NET/C#; Python is a plus.

Strong relational database knowledge, preferably SQL Server.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office technologies such as Excel and COM.

Experience with Fixed Income business and products is a plus.

Undergraduate or graduate preparation in computer science from a top‑tier program (or equivalent).

Additional Requirements SMBC’s employees participate in a hybrid workforce model that allows working from home or an SMBC office.
