Your Opportunity The role of a Structural Engineer is to work independently on small projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural Engineer will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems or products for a project.
Your Key Responsibilities
Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projects
Develop job-specific discipline specifications for less complex projects
Coordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines for project coordination
Perform construction administration duties including field observations, RFIs, submittals, and contractor change orders
Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients
Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods
Work within project scope, budget, and design approach to deliver projects on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service
Assist with development of design standards
Capabilities and Credentials
Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards and applicable building codes
Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards
Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of architects, engineers, and owner clients effectively
Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
Education and Experience
3+ years of related experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required), master’s degree (preferred)
Professional Engineering license (required), structural engineering license (preferred)
Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)
Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)
Experience with industry standard structural engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.)
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
