We’re looking for someone who builds things with purpose and isn’t limited by job-title boundaries.
Longwell Partners is a pro-democracy communications firm working on high-impact political projects like The Bulwark, Home of the Brave, and Republican Voters Against Trump. We run campaigns, build digital tools, produce videos, and invent new ways to reach and persuade people.
This role sits at the intersection of creative, technical, and strategic work. You’ll build websites, yes, but that’s only part of the job. You’ll also look for ways technology can sharpen our storytelling, expand our reach, streamline our work, and turn ideas into prototypes fast.
If you like variety, this is that job.
Ask yourself
Do you follow the news and want to be part of shaping how information reaches people?
Do you enjoy figuring things out—design, UX, content, data, automation—whenever the team hits a problem?
Do you tinker with tools, code, or side projects for the fun of it?
Do you want your technical instincts to matter in real-world political persuasion?
You’ll get to
Build and maintain websites for political and advocacy projects (roughly 20% of the job).
Prototype digital tools, data visualizations, and interactive features that help campaigns communicate.
Collaborate with designers, writers, and strategists to turn ideas into polished digital experiences.
Manage hosting, domains, and launches with an eye for stability and craft.
Experiment with new technologies (AI tools, automation, analytics, creative workflows) to make our work smarter and faster.
Take ownership of technical decisions across a wide mix of projects.
What we're looking for
Curiosity about politics, media, design, and tech.
Clear writing and critical thinking.
Experience building things for the web. Your tools are your choice.
Comfort moving between disciplines and learning on the fly.
Ability to explain technical ideas clearly to non‑technical teammates.
A track record of shipping work that’s thoughtful, functional, and well‑crafted.
You might have experience with
APIs, automation, analytics, data pipelines, or lightweight engineering.
AI tools for design, content, or technical workflows.
UX, prototyping, or creative coding.
None of these are required. We care about capability and curiosity more than credentials.
