MicroStrategy
The Role
Establish daily priorities and activities relating to all cloud and network infrastructure, including designing, implementing, and managing global hybrid and multi‑cloud network architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role operates in a hands‑on, high‑tech, operational capacity and works closely with Information Systems leadership to define and execute strategic goals for cloud networking, security, connectivity, and automation.
In‑Office Position At Strategy, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are in‑office days with Fridays as work‑from‑home.
Your Focus Cloud & Network Architecture
Manage full life‑cycle processes (define, design, develop, deploy) for projects related to the modernization, upgrade, and ongoing maintenance of hybrid and multi‑cloud network infrastructure.
Design, implement, and support cloud network architectures across AWS VPC, Azure vNet, and GCP VPC including routing, segmentation, security policies, and traffic flows.
Engineer high‑availability cloud connectivity solutions using AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, GCP Cloud Interconnect, Site‑to‑Site VPN, IPSec, BGP, and other hybrid routing mechanisms.
Support cloud operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP for all network‑related activities, ensuring secure and optimized cloud performance.
Cloud Security, Routing & Traffic Engineering
Implement and maintain cloud‑native security controls: AWS Security Groups & NACLs, Azure NSGs/ASGs, GCP firewall rules, and cloud routing policies.
Deploy and maintain cloud load‑balancing solutions (ALB/NLB, Azure Load Balancer, Azure App Gateway, GCP GLB).
Integrate cloud networking with Zero Trust security principles and identity‑based segmentation.
Automation & Monitoring
Deploy cloud‑native monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP Cloud Operations Suite) and integrate with enterprise NMS tools.
Build and maintain automated network provisioning pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, and CI/CD tooling.
Promote automation and operational efficiency across security, systems engineering, and cloud operations teams.
Operational Support & Leadership
Serve as a key escalation point for complex cloud and network issues across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on‑prem environments.
Prepare management reporting on network health, cloud uptime, connectivity incidents, and performance trends.
Develop and maintain operational best practices for cloud networking, security, and monitoring.
Lead cross‑functional project teams to deliver scalable cloud network initiatives.
Strategic Research & Governance
Evaluate emerging cloud networking technologies and propose strategic improvements.
Identify and implement cost‑effective cloud connectivity, routing, and security solutions.
Document cloud architecture standards, network design changes, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years experience in a corporate IT environment.
2–4 years hands‑on experience designing and supporting cloud and hybrid network architectures.
Hands‑on experience with:
AWS: VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Route 53, NAT Gateway
Azure: vNet, ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, NSG/ASG, Private Link, Azure Firewall
