Senior Data Architect/Cloud Database Engineer

Required Skills
8+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, database design, and administration
5+ years of experience in an Agile or DevOps enterprise environment using Atlassian tools such as Jira or Confluence
Ability to learn and work on multiple database platforms like SAP ASE, RDS Postgres.
Good Knowledge on AWS Cloud platform and its offerings like RDS, EC2 etc.
Good understanding of database migration from On Prem to Cloud infrastructure.
Lead end-to-end migration projects from on-premises databases (Sybase ASE, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) to cloud platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks).
Perform schema conversion, compatibility analysis, and refactoring of stored procedures, triggers, and scripts.
Implement
Change Data Capture (CDC)
or replication strategies to minimize downtime during migration.
Ability to analyze, create and maintain tools necessary for automating repeatable tasks.
Experience with data modeling tools such as ERStudio, ERWIN, and PowerDesigner AWS technologies such as Aurora, RDS, DMS, and Lambda, and database project management
Experience with cloud services and solutions, database administration and development, analytical sciences, information technology governance, information security, information technology resource management, business case development, business process design, strategic planning, and business functions
Experience with innovative approaches to data synchronization during phased migrations
Design, deploy, and administer cloud-native databases with high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
Automate provisioning, monitoring, and backup/restore processes using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Optimize query performance, indexing, and partitioning for large-scale workloads.
Experience with innovative approaches to data synchronization during phased migrations
Ability to present solutions precisely to various levels of management, work across different groups, perform limited project management to implement the proposed solutions, and communicate the overall customer data architecture to both technical and business constituencies
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a CS field
