About the Team Valor Labs develops cutting‑edge machine‑learning models to derive proprietary investment insights and builds software applications that augment the firm’s investment‑decision process. As a small, diverse team of software engineers and data scientists, we collaborate on wide‑ranging problems to deliver high‑impact products for the firm.
About the Role You will be a software engineer on the data‑science and machine‑learning team, contributing directly to high‑impact product development. Working with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders, you will translate complex project requirements into actionable technical solutions, and help build, deploy, monitor, and maintain those solutions in production. Your technical expertise and commitment to excellence will drive adoption of best practices and uphold the highest level of rigor.
About You
B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of experience developing production‑ready software systems
Experience in financial services is highly valued
Expertise in end‑to‑end machine‑learning operations: model deployment, monitoring, retraining, and integration with production data pipelines and API services
Proficient with Python and machine‑learning libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit‑Learn, PyTorch)
Proficient with SQL, including transactional (PostgreSQL) and analytical (BigQuery) databases
Professional experience with most, if not all, of the following:
Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)
Data processing (Prefect, Airflow, dbt)
Parallel processing (Ray, Dask, Spark)
Continuous integration/continuous deployment (GitHub Actions)
Infrastructure as code (Terraform)
Tools to support machine‑learning operations (MLFlow, DVC)
Humble, hard‑working, and collaborative
