Senior Cloud Architect
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Senior Cloud Architect.
How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission: As a Cloud Architect, you will provide oversight and contribute to the design, implementation, security, and management of complex cloud solutions to facilitate modern development of integrated mission engineering, including AI/ML, Modeling and Simulation, and more. You will be the main interface for the cloud aspects of the project, collaborating on requirements and tasking with the Security, DevSecOps, and Modeling and Simulation staff. You will oversee and contribute to the development, testing, operations, enhancement, and sustainment of the cloud infrastructure and ecosystem for unclassified and classified traditional and on-premises clouds. You will interface frequently with stakeholders across different disciplines and organizations.

Responsibilities
Your essential job functions will include, but may not be limited to:
Manage and lead cloud engineering and IT-related processes for planning, execution, and reporting.
Design and implement robust cloud architectures, cloud automation, security, and compliance scanning, including infrastructure as code and platform as code solutions.
Define and enforce cloud standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Perform cloud assessments and migrations.
Oversee the day-to-day operations, technical tasking, and development of cloud ecosystems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Monitor and optimize cloud performance, costs, and resource utilization.
Implement and maintain security controls and compliance standards.
Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
Stay current with the latest security threats, attack vectors, and vulnerabilities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Stay in the know with the latest cloud-based technologies, patterns, processes, and trends.
Manage the interactions with cloud-based technology vendors to discuss features, relevant architectural needs, etc., to meet the software factory cloud requirements.
Oversee collaboration with DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, and Information Assurance teams to ensure environment needs and requirements are tracked for execution.
Qualifications Required
15 years of combined experience working in cloud computing. DevSecOps, information technology, system administration, software engineering, or related field.
8+ years of experience working with Azure, Nutanix, or other cloud solutions (AWS, GCP, VMWare).
Proficient and deep understanding of Azure and its capabilities, tools, solutions, and features.
Experience managing complex cloud environments.
Deep understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security principles.
Proficient with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Ansible, Packer, CloudFormation).
Proficient in scripting (e.g, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Experience with containerization technology (e.g., Docker, Podman, Helm, Kubernetes).
Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools (e.g., GitOps, CI/CD).
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Solutions Architect certificate (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified Solutions Architect, etc.) or equivalent.
Clearance Requirements
Must have a Secret DoD Security Clearance.
