Pay Range

Target Pay Range: $167,500.00 - $204,600.00 annually. Full Pay Range: $129,800.00 - $242,200.00 annually. Compensation decisions are based on job‑related skills, experience, education, training, and individual qualifications. Incentives are available and performance‑based.

Impact You'll Make

As a Sr. Cybersecurity Architect, you’ll shape secure, innovative solutions that empower BECU. Your expertise will define the future of our cybersecurity strategy, ensuring every design meets compliance standards while driving business success. The focus of this role includes developing solutions on‑premises, in co‑location facilities, and in the cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

Location

Applicants must be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA or VA. Washington residents within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila are asked to work onsite Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Remote work is available for other approved locations.

What You'll Do

  • Shape the Security Vision: Partner with business leaders to define and evolve BECU’s strategic cybersecurity architecture, aligning standards, guidelines, and frameworks with organizational goals.

  • Communicate and Influence: Translate complex security strategies into clear, actionable guidance for business applications and solutions.

  • Design with Purpose: Create domain‑specific architecture designs and best practices that meet industry standards while anticipating impacts on related projects. Design and implement security architecture for multi‑cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.

  • Lead Technical Reviews: Facilitate architectural reviews of technical designs and documentation to ensure secure by design principles.

  • Drive Adoption: Champion cybersecurity standards and practices, guiding teams to integrate secure solutions into business initiatives.

  • Innovate and Enhance: Identify gaps in existing architecture and propose enhancements that strengthen security posture and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Benchmarks.

  • Integrate Secure Solutions: Lead solution architecture efforts, embedding security in every integration and implementation. Collaborate with DevOps and engineering to embed controls into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Stay Ahead of Threats: Monitor emerging security risks and design proactive strategies to mitigate them.

  • Explore New Technologies: Keep pace with cutting‑edge cybersecurity tools and incorporate them where appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience designing and implementing security solutions. CISSP, SANS, GIAC, CISA, CRISC or equivalent certification required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in security principles and technologies, including architecture design, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks.

  • Ability to translate complex technical information to all audiences.

  • Ability to translate business drivers into security design.

  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a track record of implementing effective security measures.
