Join to apply for the Dental Assistant role at Marin City Health and Wellness Center Job Overview Under the supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Assistant provides dental treatment to patients of Marin City Health & Wellness Center (MCHWC). The role requires effective communication, rapport building with patients and families, sensitivity to community needs, and commitment to the center’s mission. Qualifications Must be familiar with MCHWC goals, the dental program, and express genuine enthusiasm. Willingness to learn new procedures and terminology consistent with current dental techniques. Proficient in all phases of 4‑handed dental assisting for prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, preventative, restorative, and diagnostic procedures. Familiar with dental terminology, medication, and instruments. Perform expanded duties to the extent law permits. Clean and sterilize instruments after treatment. Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment. Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies. Maintain dental supply inventory. Maintain clean and orderly operatory and laboratory. Use motivational interviewing and caries risk assessment tools. Present treatment plans to patients. Assist with referrals and follow‑up appointments. Maintain professional attitude and appearance. Maintain current licensure via continuing education. Perform laboratory duties such as pouring models. Work with staff and management. Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations. Provide administrative support to the Dentist. Attend staff meetings and trainings. Punctual, reliable attendance. Perform other duties as directed. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalency. Graduation from accredited Dental Assisting School preferred or at least two years of recent RDA experience. Valid CA RDA license and RDA certification. X‑ray license. CPR training current. CPR (BCLS) Certification. Positive attitude, team player, and obedient to supervisor directions. Understand and promote the center’s mission, vision, and values. Sensitivity to multicultural populations. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent customer service skills, including handling dissatisfied patients. Experience in a dental office/FQHC setting. Language Skills Excellent organization, writing, and verbal skills. English proficiency required; Spanish proficiency preferred.
