AllWays Community Health Center
Dental Care Specialist for AllWays Community Health Center. Provides comprehensive dental care services in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental diseases, injuries, and deformities; performs related work as required.
Responsibilities
Examines, diagnoses, treats and prescribes medications to patients.
Administers local anesthetic and nitrous oxide when indicated.
Provides preventative dental services (prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, fluoride treatment, varnishes, sealants, radiographic procedures, patient education).
Performs operative dentistry (fillings, crowns).
Provides pediatric dental services.
Conducts oral surgery (simple to moderately complex extractions).
Manages endodontic procedures on selected cases if clinic becomes equipped.
Offers emergency dental care.
Refers patients with needs beyond general dentist scope.
Maintains dental records per clinic policies.
Provides inpatient dental services within scope of training.
Reviews radiological and medical reports and incorporates findings into care plans.
Detects and diagnoses dental diseases (decay, periodontal disease, abscesses, fractures).
Manages dental and medical emergencies (CPR certified; emergency drugs, oxygen supply, emergency number directory).
Conducts oral cancer screening.
Protects patients and staff by adhering to infection control policies.
Maintains operation of dental equipment through preventive maintenance.
Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
Maintains professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies.
Requirements
Works effectively as team member, maintaining positive work environment.
Provides care to patients of all races, genders, ages, and socioeconomic statuses.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Performs duties to the standard of care.
Uses dental technology proficiently.
