Location:
Onsite – Local to Boston, MA (no travel expenses)
Work hours:
40-hour work week. Some weeks may vary in schedule (e.g., evening shifts, no overnight). May include a weekend or two to accommodate all user groups.
Certification:
Do not need to be Epic certified, but must have Epic OpTime/Perioperative & Stork/OB workflows experience.
Overview Clinical Informatics Specialists to support Epic implementation efforts with a strong focus on clinical engineering and end‑user readiness. The Clinical Informaticist will serve as key liaisons between clinical teams, technical teams, and project leadership to ensure safe, effective, and optimized adoption of Epic across multiple care settings.
Specialization:
OR, anesthesia, peri‑operative, and labor & delivery workflows. Must be local to the Boston, MA area.
Responsibilities
Pre‑Go‑Live Support
Assisting with patient movement days and readiness events
Onsite rounding to observe workflows and identify adoption gaps
Supporting shadow charting activities to validate readiness
Delivering enhanced, hands‑on training following classroom sessions, focusing on code documentation and specialty workflows
Guiding staff in the use of Epic playground environments for practice and confidence‑building
Go‑Live Support
Providing on‑the‑floor assistance during go‑live events
Reinforcing key workflows and providing just‑in‑time coaching
Supporting clinicians with code documentation, ordering workflows, and clinical documentation accuracy
Post‑Live Optimization
Assisting with issue resolution and workflow fine‑tuning
Gathering end‑user feedback for continuous improvement
Participating in optimization rounds with clinical leadership
Ensuring sustained adoption of Epic functionality across units
Experience & Qualifications
Experience supporting nursing and physicians
Epic experience required (certification not mandatory, but familiarity with Epic workflows essential)
Demonstrated success in supporting clinicians during Epic training, go‑live, or optimization events
Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work across diverse clinical teams
Previous experience with rounding, workflow validation, or shadow charting preferred
