Job Description
The Clinical Research Associate I works under the direction of a Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Program Administrator, Research Nurse, or other supervising staff to assist in tasks supporting the coordination/implementation of noncomplex research studies. The role supports research objectives through tasks such as data collection, candidate evaluation, participant scheduling, IRB assistance, budget management, and regulatory compliance.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate/implement studies with supervising staff.
Evaluate and abstract clinical research data from source documents.
Ensure compliance with protocol and overall clinical research objectives.
Complete Case Report Forms (CRFs).
Enter clinical research data into Electronic Data Systems (EDCs).
Provide supervised patient contact or long‑term follow‑up contact for patients.
Assist with regulatory submissions to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) including adverse event reporting.
Assist with clinical trial budgets and patient research billing.
Assist with prescreening of potential research participants for various clinical trials.
Schedule patients for research visits and procedures.
Prepare and ship samples; maintain study supplies and kits.
Ensure compliance with all federal and local agencies, including FDA and local IRB.
Maintain research practices using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Maintain strict patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations and applicable law.
Participate in required training and education programs.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s in Science, Sociology, or related field preferred.
Experience: No experience required; one (1) year of clinical research related experience preferred.
Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of State, Federal, and Agency standards to align with regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
Compensation Minimum: $21.29 per hour | Maximum: $33.00 per hour
