Full‑time position

Position Summary The Executive Director, Strategic Corporate Partnerships will work closely with the Tandon leadership team to develop and enhance Tandon's global reputation and visibility by building on current industry and corporate relationships and developing a new prospect pipeline.

Responsible for identifying, developing, and stewarding funding opportunities with a primary emphasis on research funding and building industry connections associated with highly competitive research proposals.

Point of contact for industry inquiries and requests.

Lead business development functions, contribute to branding/marketing messages, and plan agendas for industry visits and research reviews to drive and sustain corporate investment in our campus.

This is a highly visible, externally facing critical leadership position within a fast‑paced growing engineering school.

The position is expected to show tangible results in the form of new industry partnerships to support current and future research and education initiatives and significant growth in the school's industry‑based development support.

Qualifications Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in a related area

Preferred Education

Doctoral Degree, MBA or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related STEM field

Master's Degree in a related field

Required Experience

10+ years of experience in corporate partnerships, demonstrated experience in building and cultivating industrial and corporate partnerships, managing budgets, and supervision.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with constant and multiple ongoing deadlines.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Ability to think strategically and creatively and work well under pressure.

Ability to prioritize and proactively ensure deadlines are met.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with corporate leaders, faculty, staff, donors, and volunteers at all levels.

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Must be willing and able to travel.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Background in conducting academic research in engineering.

Management level experience, supervising and leading initiatives.

Experience developing and implementing strategies for acquiring new leads, and retaining and upgrading existing leads and relationships.

Experience in initiating new and innovative engagement and outreach programs.

Experience working in a setting with changing priorities and an evolving list of stakeholders.

Ability to thrive in an intellectually challenging, fast‑paced, collegial environment; political savvy, integrity, discretion, pragmatic consensus‑building skills, and mature judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $180,000.00 to USD $220,000.00.

NYU considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
