Position Overview
Associate/Full Professor of Surgery – Chief, Section of Colorectal Surgery
Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, University of California, San Francisco
Responsibilities
Lead all clinical, academic, research, and administrative activities in the Section of Colorectal Surgery.
Oversee a nationally recognized team of surgeons and healthcare professionals, promote innovative surgical techniques, and advance research in malignant and benign colorectal surgery.
Collaborate with other departments and divisions to promote interdisciplinary approaches to patient care, research, and education.
Educate surgery residents and medical students; participate in faculty meetings, Grand Rounds, quality assurance, and continuing education.
Advance the mission of the Section, Division, and UC San Francisco.
Qualifications
Board certified by the American Board of General Surgery and completed a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery or Complex General Surgical Oncology with a dedicated fellowship in colorectal surgery.
Demonstrated aptitude for evidence-based, high-quality care in clinical teams that enhance patient experience with commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
Proven track record of program building, leadership, communication, and collaboration.
National reputation for clinical excellence and scholarship in colorectal disease.
Recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students; active participation in training programs.
Research productivity expected; dedicated time for research will be considered.
Salary UC Salary Scale minimum base salary range $190,600 – $405,900. Membership in health sciences compensation plan provides eligibility for additional compensation.
